Our Business Customers Will Benefit From New Microsoft Technologies

The Web Synergies CEO Mr Gideon Lim and Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Mr Prabhu Kumar Gade, have recently returned from the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference(WPC) in Houston Texas.

The conference’s main focus was on cloud solutions and Windows 8, along with several other exciting new products.

Cloud OS Accelerate was announced by Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, Satya Nadella.

The new program aims to put thousands of new private and hybrid cloud solutions into consumers’ hands. The total investment for Cloud OS Accelerate from Microsoft and its project partners (Cisco, NetApp, Hitachi Data Systems, HP and Dell) is $US 100 million.

From September 1st there will be a new Windows Intune discount offer of 30% that will help connect partners and customers with the latest in cloud connected management.

As well as the previously announced strategic partnership with Oracle, Microsoft also unveiled several new technologies which Web Synergies business customers will be keen to take advantage of.

These include:

  • Power BI for Office 365 – Delivering powerful BI solutions to small and medium businesses this new self-service business intelligence (BI) solution combines the data analysis and visualization capabilities of Excel with the power of collaboration, scale and trusted cloud environment of Office 365.
  • New Windows Azure Active Directory capabilities that will make it possible for independent software vendors and others to leverage Windows Azure’s directory to enable a single sign-on experience for their users, at no cost.
  • There is a premium offer for Windows Azure SQL Database coming soon which will allow Web Synergies to offer enhanced products and services through its Microsoft Gold partnership.

, Windows CMO and CFO, reminded attendees that Windows 8 had so far sold 100 million licenses. Tami also indicated that there had been 20 million enterprise evaluations and 60 billion hours of use for Windows 8 have been logged.

Another exciting development revealed at WPC is CityNext. This is a global initiative harnessing the extensive ecosystem powered by Microsoft partner relationships and their technologies. City leaders can solve many of their operational challenges using Microsoft’s flexible cloud services, enterprise-grade devices and apps for city employees, and big data platforms.
